Forked has a home page for you now. Log in once with Discord at account.forked.gg and you get one identity that carries across everything we build. It is live today. Here is what you can do with it, how the test network fits in, and what we need from you this week.
Sign in and make it yours
Go to account.forked.gg and log in with Discord. Your profile seeds from your real Discord name and avatar, and you can change your handle, bio, and picture (pick one of the Forkies, or keep your Discord avatar). This is the same account you use on FORKcast, so one login follows you around.
You will see two balances. Platform points are what you earn by playing and posting in the community, and you spend them on things like profile boosts. Credits are what pay for real services like game hosting and storage. Points and credits only move one way: you earn points, you buy credits, and neither cashes out or transfers. That keeps the whole thing simple and keeps it from looking like something it is not.
Connect your accounts, including your wallet
Under Connected accounts you can link the identities that are yours. Linking your Discord is one click. Linking a wallet is new: click Connect wallet, approve the connection, and sign a short message. That signature proves you control the address. It authorizes nothing on-chain and moves no funds, it is just proof. Once it is linked, it shows on your account, and only one wallet can belong to one account. This is worth doing even if you do nothing else today, because a linked wallet is what ties your on-chain activity back to your Forked identity when you use the network's paid services.
The test network: this week is the demand side
The economy behind all of this is running on a public test network. Everything on it is for trying things out. The token and credits here have no monetary value, and balances can be reset at any time.
This week is about the demand side of the network: real people showing up and using it. That is you. You get test tokens, turn them into credits, and spend them on services the network provides. Next week we open the supply side, where individual node operators come in and start running the machines that actually do the work. We are doing demand first, on purpose, so that when the operators arrive there is already real activity for their nodes to serve. The big board in that picture up top is the idea: dots lighting up all over the world as the network fills in.
The full loop works end to end today, and you can drive it yourself:
- Get some test $FORK. The faucet at forked.gg/faucet hands out test tokens on BNB Smart Chain testnet.
- Buy credits with it. At app.forked.gg/buy.html, connect your wallet and send test $FORK to turn it into credits on your account.
- Spend the credits on something real. On app.forked.gg you can use credits to spin up a game server, a Minetest or Factorio world that actually runs on the node network.
What we need from you this week, and what you get for it
Get in, run the loop, and see how the pieces fit together. Poke at it. Try to break it. Then tell us what was confusing, slow, or broken over in the Discord. That feedback is the entire reason we run a test network before we run the real one.
One honest heads up: getting testnet BNB is a genuine pain. You need a small amount of it to move test $FORK around on BNB Smart Chain testnet, and the faucets that hand it out are slow, rate-limited, and fiddly. There is no way around that. Testnet tokens are made deliberately annoying to get so that nobody mistakes them for money, and it is the only way we can test this properly. So if you push through the hassle, genuinely, thank you. That is a real favor, and it is exactly the help we need right now.
A few more things that are already live
FORKcast, the prediction engine, is free to log into with the same account. Call what happens next on a live stream, stake points, and climb the leaderboard.
Browser Games at vibe.forked.gg is where you can upload a browser game you built and get a link other people can play, with Discord login and leaderboards built in.
Games is a cross-store catalog you can browse, boost, and mark what you like.
Tell us what breaks
This is a test network on purpose. If something is confusing, slow, or plain broken, that is exactly what we want to hear, so say so in the Discord. The faster we find the rough edges, the faster the real thing gets good.
